Firefighters from across the U.S. converge on Charleston for two day competition.
CHARLESTON Firefighters from across the United States converged on the capital city for this weekend's Firefighter Combat Challenge.
"It's the hardest two minutes any human being can go through," said firefighter Jason Chudzinsky. Firefighters simulated essential skills of firefighting.
Men and women competed in five physical events including: a five-story tower climb in full bunker-gear, simulated forcible entry, running around obstacles, and hoisting fire hoses.
"Anytime you’re in good shape your able to help the community you know if someone is in trouble I'm able to go get them," said firefighter David Bowman.
The challenge competition encourages and rewards physical fitness at fire departments across the country.
